Fouad Abu Assaf

Fouad Abu Assaf is a lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Sweida
Since 1998, Fouad has had a permanent woodcarving exhibition at the Adonis Gallery in Beirut.
He has a long track record.
- First prize for sculpture at the Mazraa Festival in 2002.
- Various solo exhibitions (Alf Noon Gallery, Sheherazade, Dar Al Mada, Zawiya, Shura, The Eternal River, Heishon, Art Forum, etc.).
- Regular participant in official state exhibitions since 2002, in addition to various participations in exhibitions and art festivals within and outside Syria.
- Exhibition: A permanent exhibition of basalt works in the Al-Khoury Hall in Damascus.
- A permanent exhibition of large basalt works at the Four Seasons Hotel in Damascus.
- Participation in international sculpture festivals and symposiums within and outside Syria.
- His works have been acquired by the Ministry of Culture and by private collections both within and outside Syria (Denmark, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, France, the United States, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Jordan, and Bahrain). The sculptor Fouad Abu Assaf played a crucial role in the establishment of the Suwayda International Sculpture Symposium, which hosted a group of local and international sculptors.
- He completed three consecutive sessions (2008, Sa’i International Symposium; 2009, Jaljala Symposium; 2010, Jaljala 3 Symposium).
