Lied van Hamad Al Shaer
This song is composed and sung by the young Hamad Al Shaer, who was stationed in the neighborhoods protecting his family and neighborhood with his cousins.
Fate willed that four of his cousins were martyred in front of his eyes by bombing from the Al-Julani government.
So his grief over the killing of his cousins was expressed in a poem he composed and sang, saying, “Let us love each other. As-Suwayda will remain proud with its morals and love of life.”
Honestly, even though life is sometimes unfair, what good does it do to be angry or sad? Ultimately, oh child of Adam, we all end up on earth. So love one another while we are still on this earth, my family, and let nothing come between you.
We are all human; nothing truly helps us unless we are united—one hand, one heart, under one flag, and with one purpose. We all come from the same roots, and before God, we are brothers. Our country is one, our dignity is one, and we share our concerns. You and I are the same with that connection. We grew up together.
With God’s help, we will remain united and strong.
May God keep sorrow away from everyone, and may joy and harmony always be present in your homes. May your homes remain filled with happiness and peace, God willing.
Let us love each other and learn from the reality we live in, for life is short and fragile.
With all due respect to my brother and kind
friend,
the artist Hamad Al Shaer.
My greetings to you – my people, my pride, the honorable, loyal and sincere people of As-Suwayda.
