Aya Salam: A student who wrote on her page on 28-8-2025: Today would have been my graduation day, together with many of my Syrian friends. But betrayal has killed my loved ones and deprived me of my university, my graduation, my dream, and my future. Yet she wished me all the best for the days ahead, because she believes that knowledge and truth triumph over all claws of ignorance and barbarity.

Today, on 28/10/2025, we woke up to the news of Aya’s murder on the bus she took to Damascus to celebrate her graduation, after the deceitful government gave reassuring news that the road was safe. So the government of treason and terrorism continued its criminal path and attacked the bus with a hail of bullets. Aya, the diligent student who dreamed of graduation for days, hours, and years, and who believed in truth and knowledge, became a martyr. What can we say to Aya’s soul? Rest in peace, because the salvation of all university students in the city of Suwaida is death. Humanity and the solutions of the earth have come to an end.
